In its response to the National Strategy for Community Justice: Revision Consultation, Victim Support Scotland (VSS) emphasises the importance of prioritising victims' needs and voices within the community justice framework. We believe that the strategy does not sufficiently address the perspectives of victims, particularly in key areas related to community interventions and public protection. VSS advocates for stronger inclusion of victim support organizations in community justice partnerships and highlights the need for consistent leadership across Scotland to ensure that victims' experiences are considered in justice planning. Additionally, VSS underscores the importance of transparency in reporting outcomes related to offender rehabilitation to build community confidence in the justice system.
