Families of knife crime victims speak out to call for change
Three people who have lost a family member to knife crime have shared their stories and made a call for change in how knife crime is dealt with in Scotland.
Victim Support Scotland has launched a new community support project for women and girls in Clackmannanshire who have been impacted by domestic abuse.
The project, titled Her Space Clacks, will offer weekly community drop-in sessions across four venues in the area. The project will also invite local residents to give their views and shape how future community support will be delivered.
Attendees of the Thursday drop-in sessions can expect safe, welcoming, and confidential spaces where women and girls can access practical assistance, emotional support, and information, while connecting with others. They can also explore accessing financial support through VSS's Emergency Assistance Fund, if eligible.
The aim of the project is to reduce isolation, increase safety, build confidence, and empower women and girls to make informed choices about their future through ongoing, person-centred support.
Attendees are welcome to bring children along, and they do not need to have reported a crime to attend the sessions. No booking is required and the safety and privacy of attendees is prioritised at all times.
When: Every Thursday 10:00am to 2:00pm
Where: The service operates on a four-week rotational bases across four community venues each month.
The venue rotations are listed below for October 2026 - January 2027.
