Families of knife crime victims speak out to call for change
Three people who have lost a family member to knife crime have shared their stories and made a call for change in how knife crime is dealt with in Scotland.
Crime doesn’t stop over Christmas, so neither does Victim Support Scotland.
We will remain open over the holiday festive period and available to support you, whatever the crime and wherever you live in Scotland.
This year, we are operating with slightly reduced opening hours on the following dates and times:
- Thursday 25, Friday 26 December, and Thursday 1, Friday 2 January: 10am - 4pm
- Wednesday 24 and Wednesday 31 December: 8am - 5pm
At all other times, we will be open as normal:
- Monday to Friday: 8am – 8pm
- Saturday to Sunday: 10am – 4pm
We can offer emotional support and practical advice if you are dealing with the impact of a crime. Our support is free, independent and confidential.
People can also access vital financial help through our Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF). Accessible to people who have been financially impacted by crime who have no alternative funding options, the EAF covers essential goods and services – like food, utilities, clothing, travel to a place of safety, or security equipment.
Importantly, applications to the EAF will continue to be processed over the festive period. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to support people to complete their applications if needed.
