  19 December 2023

Think Pieces
Woman on the phone.

If you have been affected by crime, Christmas can bring difficult feelings to a head. Victim Support Scotland is here throughout the festive period to help you process these emotions.

Charities throughout the UK have drafted guidance and suggestions to help you cope with your emotions and keep your mental health in check throughout Christmas and New Year.

  • Mind: a guide for those who may be struggling with their mental health
  • Age UK: a guide for older people who may be feeling down at Christmas
  • LGBT Foundation: guidance for members of the LGBTQi+ community to find the festive period difficult
  • Stand Alone: guidance for anyone who is estranged from their family
  • Young Minds: a guide focused on children and young people
  • Cruse UK: for anyone who is dealing with losing a loved one
  • NAPAC: A guide specifically for anyone who has experienced childhood sexual abuse or non-recent abuse
