As advocates for positive change within the criminal justice system, we champion the rights of victims and witnesses. Actively influencing national policy decision-making, we collaborate with key agencies, the third sector, and local organisations, working towards enhancements in support services.
As an independent charity powered by our volunteers, our mission is to support people from every corner of Scotland. We are on the lookout for more volunteers from all over the country to join us in continuing this essential work.
Volunteer with usWe are a national organisation serving all of Scotland, with significant influence at the highest levels. Our support services are available locally, tailored to meet people’s needs where, when, and how they need it. Founded on a deep commitment to justice and compassion, we operate independently, offering non-judgmental and confidential support to anyone who has been affected by crime.
As a victim of crime, attending court and giving evidence can be stressful and people may feel anxious about it.
If you are going to court, Victim Support Scotland’s Court Service can guide you through the process by helping you understand what to expect.
We also offer national services for those outside of Scotland.
There are many ways to get involved with Victim Support Scotland. Join us in being a compassionate force for change, through volunteering, sharing, donating or fundraising. Your support will make a real difference.

The support was over and above – it was on another level. I realise you need to have a level of empathy to do the role, but I feel that everyone was completely invested in my case, in my wellbeing and in supporting me.
Victim Support Scotland’s Court Service and Community Service are the best services ever to help. Before any trial went ahead the Court Based Service had me in the court for a visit and talked me through the court process; they showed me how the screen worked and how the court was set up. It was still really daunting but they put me at ease.
