Victim Support Scotland launches recruitment drive across Scotland

3 October, 2019

Victim Support Scotland has launched a new recruitment initiative across the country. We are on the lookout for talented people who have the drive and ambition to contribute to the organisation’s aim of putting victims and witnesses first.

The roles are varied and exciting and will involve working closely with teams of employees, volunteers and people affected by crime.

We are therefore looking for dynamic individuals who can show strong leadership, have a curiosity to learn and improve, and want to be both challenged and rewarded.

Kate Wallace, Chief Executive of Victim Support Scotland, said: “We have a tremendous opportunity right now in Scotland to make positive and meaningful improvements to services and the justice system, which puts the needs of victims and witnesses first. Victim Support Scotland is at the forefront of this.

“We can make continuous improvements to services for victims in the community, from our offices throughout Scotland, and in the courts when often victims and witnesses are at their most vulnerable.

“Further to this, Victim Support Scotland is pushing for positive policy change at a national level, through our partnerships with third sector colleagues and the Scottish Government. We need the right teams and people in place to help us deliver on these ambitions.

“It’s a hugely exciting time for us. The creation of these new posts comes as part of our new phase of development as a charity. We welcome applicants from all walks of life and backgrounds. What is important to us is that they show energy, determination and leadership and an enthusiasm to get things right for victims. In return, those that are successful will be joining a supportive and committed team of employees and volunteers making a profound difference to people’s lives when they most need it.”

Successful applicants will be appointed to roles that involve the recruitment, induction, co-ordination and support of volunteers who provide direct service delivery to victim and witnesses of crime, as well as developing innovative partnerships in local communities. Other roles will support volunteers providing frontline support through our national Helpline and other digital platforms; and roles that will see the oversight, management and development of court and community services in specific geographical areas.

Victim Support Scotland is now recruiting for the following posts:

  • Support Co-ordinator based at various locations across Scotland
  • Support Centre Supervisors (3 vacancies), based in Glasgow
  • Locality Manager, based in Edinburgh
  • Locality Manager, based in Glasgow.
