Victims’ Awareness Week 2024
From Monday 19 until Sunday 25 February, we will be marking Victims’ Awareness Week. This year’s theme is victims’ rights.
When someone is affected by crime, it can have a massive impact on their life, affecting them emotionally, mentally, physically, financially and practically. It can be very traumatic, so having the right information at the right time is critical.
In Scotland, anyone affected by crime has a right to support and information, regardless of whether the crime was reported to the police or not.
While not everyone affected by crime will want to exercise these rights, we want people affected by crime to know they can come to Victim Support Scotland.
If you or someone you know has been affected by crime, you can contact us on: 0800 160 1985. Our webchat is also on the bottom right hand side of this page.
Our teams are here to answer your call.
Your rights.
Through the Victims’ Code for Scotland, everyone has a legal right to support if they are a victim or witness of crime, as do their family members.
